The Recreation Center

The Recreation Center is an outreach ministry of First Presbyterian Church of New Castle. The Recreation Center offers a friendly, safe, Christian-oriented gathering place for those 55 and older in the downtown community. Friendship, opportunities for service, spiritual development and worship along with healthy meals twice weekly, exercise, group outings, and other recreational activities offer a wide variety of opportunities for both men and women. The members meet three days a week, Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 9 AM until 4 PM, in this centrally located area to join their peers for fellowship and fun!

Recreation Center members range in age from 55 to 97.  We are blessed with people who care deeply for each other and share good times and bad.  Our members over the years have become “family”, especially during illness or death in the family of a member.

New members are always welcome and, with God’s blessing of good health and circumstance, will share many years of fellowship with their new friends.

We are open to any member of the community age 55 or over who is looking for a place to go for fun and fellowship, regardless of race or religion. Approximately, 90 percent of our Rec Center participants are not members of First Presbyterian Church, making this a true outreach opportunity of the church.
